In mid April this year, three members of our Club entered the “Nationals” held in WA at ASWA’s Archery Centre, Whiteman Park. And with pretty good success.
Harry Hickson, head coach of our Club won Silver in the HEAVY CROSSBOW event whilist Jimmy Flood won Bronze in the DISABLED DIVISION shooting a full FITA. Overall, Jim came a creditable 43rd in this event, against the likes of Clint Freeman (Australia’s World Champion) plus the cream of Australia’s top archers. But alas your poor President was not amongst the medal winners. In the two events he entered, Veterans Field plus Veterans Clout over 180 metres, Roy came in 6th in both events (now guess how many archers were in the two events). Jim and Roy both used compound bows.

At the "Nations" held in April 2007, three of our club members Roy and Harry Hickson plus Neil Robinson volunteered their services as "helpers" for the week. Their services together with many others from other clubs was appreciated and so have been recognised by ASWA with "certificates of appreciation". Sue Glidden from ASWA presented the trio with the certificates a recent club shoot.
